Global-e for small brand

We’re rebuilding our site on Shopify and looking at Global-e to handle international stuff -- duties, taxes, shipping, all that.
I know they’re used by bigger brands, but we’re on the small side and wondering if they’d still be a good fit.
Curious if anyone has worked with them.
Were they good to deal with? Anything annoying or unexpected?
And again -- we're very small, but our biggest markets are overseas.
Appreciate any thoughts or experiences!
Top Comment: We used them last year for about 2 months and had the strangest experience. I'm honestly not even sure why - basically we went from around 2-5 international sales a day to about 2 in week (also a small brand) for the duration of using them. It was an absolutely insane drop off. Never could figure out why though and I was quite happy with the actual Global-e system, they were helpful and efficient getting it set up on our site, we used their recommended price weighting to include taxes in customer cart totals etc and by all rights at worst it should have just continued with a similar number of sales as before. We even polled customers and every single one of them said having taxes pre-paid was a great idea etc. I really wanted it to work for us but it was a disaster and we could never figure out why. I thought their system was good, they way the operate and got us set up was good, the customers said this was something they wanted but we couldn't ignore the dropoff. Global-e even had their dev team checking several times to make sure things were working fully. Their admin panel for order processing was a little clunky but nothing terrible and it all linked back into Shopify perfectly well and I liked that there was no annual contract. Overall, it is a good system and widely used so for whatever reason I think we were a weird anomaly!
How do I know if this a real email from Global E?

They mention the company I ordered from and the tracking number. My tracking number is with EPG. Are they and global E the same thing? I’ve never received this kind of email before. The package is coming the US to Canada.
Top Comment: If that’s your real order number, this is probably legit. Contact the seller to confirm, or find the carrier phone number and call them.
Anyone has a view on Global-E?

Global-E is a all-in-one solutions for merchants wanting to do cross border. The company had a pretty impressive investor day yesterday. L5Y growth of 47% CAGR and they guide for 25% p.a. revenue growth next three years. They work with more brands than i thought, including many of LVMH brands, adidas and Logitech. They are also the exclusive provider of cross border for Shopify. The stock is down 32% YTD, valuation is c. 30x P/E NTM but for those growth rates it does not seem crazy (compared to some of the other stocks we discuss here)
I have been adding on weakness, but was wondering if I was missing something. Anyone else in the GLBE boat?
Top Comment: This is a major buy for sure. I think it will go under 25 due to the market this year but I think it's a great long term stock and see no reason why it can't hit $100 long term.
Global-e shipping issue

Hi,
I have an international order placed with a merchant in the US. The merchant used Global-e to process and ship the order. The package was shipped by the merchant via UPS and received by Global-e nearly 10 days ago. Last week Wednesday they sent me a confirmation email saying the package has now been dispatched from the US via DHL express.
However, for the last 5 days, DHL tracking just has “informationed received” status. I contacted DHL and they confirmed the sender just created the label but has not actually shipped the package. DHL is not in possession of the package.
I tried to contact Global-e through their Contact Us page and got a ticket number. But they did not respond to the queries at all. Is there a way to contact this company? Anyone has experience with Global-e?

Top Comment: Global-e acts as the “merchant of record” for international shipments. It is the vendor for all merchants that use Shopify Managed Markets to collect and remit duties and taxes at checkout. Global-e is not related to the delivery performance but the remittance of prepaid duties and taxes to your country on behalf of the merchant. The merchant either didn’t actually hand off your package to the carrier, or gave your package to the wrong carrier, hence the lack of tracking progress/updates. Reach out the merchant, confirm the actual carrier they used, and inquire why the shipment has not been dropped off with the correct carrier yet. Setting up for International Markets: Global-E Alternatives?

Hi,
Looking for a solution for customs, shipping, and other barriers to entry for international markets.
I essentially want our store to be 'very' accessible for a number of countries. i.e.
Ie we're based in the UK, but for the US I'm writing;
- We cover customs & shipping
- Receive within 3-4 days via Express
- Free shipping on orders over $60
Currently, we're trying Global-E ~ to handle customs, shipping side, payment gateways, reduced shipping costs, and Orbe for the landing page and translations side.
However, Global-E sucks on the back-end.
My fulfilment team are struggling to utilise and it's all incredibly clunky.
i.e;
you have to manually book a shipment via Royal Mail to ship it to their warehouse.
- you have to use their portal for shipments.
- it's got a shitty API with Shopify.
It's increased time to fulfill (exponentially), of course, as they get used to it, it'll speed up but I can't shake the feeling that there has to be a better alternative.
So, what apps are you using for global E-Commerce?
How are you navigating customs, duties?
Is there a better app? (Briefly looked at Zonos for example.)

Top Comment: The best thing to do is ship from a localized warehouse - use a 3PL company to house and ship from.
Did everyone get the shipping email from Global-e yet?

I place my order on the first night, mine was quite a large order over $500. I got the confirmation from hobonichi right away but still haven't had anything about the shipping from global e. Am I the only one or is anyone else experiencing this with a large orders?
Also I did check and my order was not cancelled

Top Comment: My order was around $300 and hasn’t shipped yet. Last year my order didn’t ship till the 11th. It’s all good. Im actually not as chill about this as I appear—I want my planners! haha

Has anyone had issues with the Global-E shipping?

I’ve been attempting to track my bear but can’t seem to find any info. I contacted BaB and they let me know that the bear shipped on Monday but didn’t have any tracking info for me and that I should receive an email from global-E with that information.
Apparently this is a new shipper for orders to Canada so they weren’t even sure how it works. I can’t seem to find any info on how to contact them either. Should I be worried or does anyone know if the lack of communication is normal?
Top Comment: Yeah, I had the option to use it once and I’m in the US. After 3 weeks of “unable to track shipment” I called customer support and the lady said that they were stuck in some sort of holding pattern. She ended up re-placing the order for me and I got them!
